PHOENIX (Thursday, November 4th 2021) -- RSL AZ Elite Academy 05 forward Mason Snailum is this week's Chapman Automotive Group RSL AZ Student-Athlete of the Week.
Mason, a junior at Brophy College Preparatory, volunteers with a group called Ability 360 where he plays sports with special needs children and adults. On the field, Mason is the leading goal scorer for the first place RSL AZ North 2005 Boys EA who compete in the Southwest Desert Conference of the Elite Academy League.
"Mason is a great example of one of our RSL players coming through our system. He worked his way from the second team into one of the elite level teams by hard work and determination," said RSL AZ EA Director, David Shaffer. "Mason is now one of the elite players in our '05 age group and we're very proud of him at RSL AZ."
Each week throughout the academic year, RSL AZ will honor a Student-Athlete of the Week who has excelled in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and on the field. In May, all Student-Athlete of the Week winners will be in consideration for the Student-Athlete of the Year award. The Student-Athlete of the Year winner will receive a $500 scholarship that can be used for either soccer or college.
Every coach at RSL AZ is eligible to nominate a player of any age from any team. Please email Garrett Cleverly to nominate a player.
